My Buttermilk (Crispy) Fried Chicken Tenders. I cooked these using my Ziegler and Brown Triple Grill BBQ with the trivet accessory from Barbeques Galore. Like all my recipes, this can be made in your kitchen too. Here’s the recipe for delicious fried chicken the whole family will love!
Ingredients
500 grams (1 pound) chicken tenders
Marinade
2 cups buttermilk
1 tbsp sweet paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp salt
Dry mixture
1.5 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup corn flour (cornstarch)
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp sweet paprika
1 tsp salt
Method
To make the marinade, place the chicken pieces in a large bowl. Pour the buttermilk over the chicken and add the sweet paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and salt. Combine well and cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
To make the dry mixture, place the all-purpose flour, corn flour and salt in a large bowl, combining the dry mixture well.
Remove the chicken pieces one at a time from the marinade and coat them evenly in the dry mixture.
In a small saucepan, add about 3 inches of oil and fry the chicken pieces in batches (don’t over crowd the saucepan) until golden. The internal temperature of chicken should be 165f (74c). Serve immediately.
